Wrong question.
The real scandal?
The ads are shitty marketing.
I’ll bet you.
Any amount of money you want to be me. That in one month, less than 3 in 10 people do not remember the brand behind the ad.
American Eagle wanted viral.
What they got was forgettable.
If people remember the controversy but not your name, you didn’t market.
You memed.
You focused on the wrong thing.
Legendary brands don’t chase attention.
(For the sake of it.)
They own a category.
And marketing that doesn’t make the cash register sing?
